Citrus Slices a Mini Collection

Citrus Slices - Mini Surface Pattern Collection by Amy Wade

I’m so looking forward to summer. I close my eyes and feel the warm rays shining down on my face, sip a margarita and fire up the grill. Those warm summer feelings were the inspiration for this bright and sunny citrus print collection.

These citrus slices were digital drawings I had done in Procreate a few years ago. I originally made them to sublimate them onto compact mirrors.

I felt that these bright little fruit slices had so much more to offer than just being a compact. So I imported them into Photoshop and decided to make some patterns. I love random patterns. I love to look at prints and see if I can find the repeat. It’s exciting when I can’t find it right away. I’m always in for a good puzzle. So I tend to gravitate randomness.

I started off with the pink versions first. Each slice has a bit of a floral appearance and it reminded me of bright floral wallpaper in kitchens in the 1960s. When I created the orange version it had even more of a vintage vibe.

The citrus wedges and dots prints were the next to work on. I loved adding the dots in with the wedges like juicy little droplets of color. They are like a fizzy drink, or a shaken cocktail poured over ice. A fresh crisp margarita on a hot sunny day.

Where You Can Get These Prints

All of these prints are now available in my Spoonflower shop. Great for your summer sewing projects. These prints make really great picnic and bbq supplies. Aprons, placemats, napkins, table runners, table cloths, these are all really great sewing projects for these prints.
